  • Overview

    Candidates must have an expert level of understanding of the convergence of IT and Broadcast technology that is necessary to maintain and support a broadcast television facility.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Oversee network broadcast and studio technical support teams and systems (hardware, software, storage, and networking)
    • Oversee 24/7 Master Control Operations
    • Foster client service relationships with key stakeholders and use dashboards to report progress to leadership team
    • Provide design, installation, integration and support for broadcast system upgrades and new project deployments.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot the integrity and security of the broadcast systems IT networks
    • Author and publish technical documentation; provide detailed reports documenting the ongoing work, repairs, longer term issues and new initiatives.
    • Work with outside vendors to achieve strategic and financial goals
    • Develop Business Continuity contingencies for network operations and support
    • Develop and mentor a client service team to facilitate an open and high performance environment

    Qualifications

     

    • 10+ years experience in media operations
    • 5+ years experience in network operations management. 
    • Significant experience with production/post-production software (Avid, Adobe Premier, After Effects, Chyron based Graphic Systems, etc.)
    • Experience supporting Media Asset Management systems, process development/refinement, and automated workflows and tools
    • Proficiency in Microsoft, Linux, and Apple Operating systems
    • Working knowledge of Network infrastructure and operations including Cisco switches
    • Experience with SAN, LTO, and object-based storage systems
    • Working Knowledge of VM and Database environments and configurations
    • Experience with managing IP addressing, file and directory permissions and networking concepts and terminologies
    • Excellent documentation, communication, & organization skills
    • Demonstrated expert ability in troubleshooting & analysis
    • Strong leader - collaborates well with team and others to solve problems
    • Effectively communicate the status of systems and actions within production environment, including risk assessment, both verbally and through documentation to internal and external stakeholders
    • Change oriented - actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change
    • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays on case by case basis
