    Candidates must have an expert level of understanding of the business metrics and implementation of measurement technologies used in the creation of Television Audience Measurement, i.e. ratings for a national and local television audience.

    Responsibilities

    • Advocate ION’s business and technical  position when reviewing/implementing third party measurement solutions with an eye towards furthering ION business interests and strategies while at the same time finding the most operational efficient way
    • To leverage the expertise in Audience Measurement to enhance media research, support strategic initiatives, and inform management with distinctive insights
    • Serve as a liaison with audience measurement agencies (Nielsen, ComScore, Adobe etc.) to review technical requirements to properly measure ION audiences across cable, satellite, and over-the-air households
    • Work with network broadcast and station technical support teams to verify the proper implementation of audience measurement technologies
    • Investigate and troubleshoot errors in audience measurements; work with third party companies to determine appropriate resolutions
    • Assist in implementing and testing the encoding and monitoring equipment within ION’s network TV feeds infrastructure and troubleshooting implementation issues
    • Provide support to the departments by gathering and analyzing data in the establishment and/or maintenance of audience measurement processes, procedures and policies
    • Foster close working relationships with internal stakeholders across the organization and use dashboards to report  progress to leadership team

    Qualifications

    • Experience with, or deep knowledge of, national and local broadcast station research and the trends, technology, etc. shaping the broadcast industry
    • Data and analytical skills with emphasis on audience measurement within an advertising agency or media business
    • An in-depth knowledge of Nielsen Linear syndicated product offerings and a sophisticated understanding of the challenges facing comprehensive audience measurement
    • Good working knowledge of various encoding and monitoring equipment and methodologies
    • Technical knowledge of ATSC and transport stream TV transmission technologies, broadcast signal distribution, IP networking
    • Excellent visualization and storytelling skills to be able to effectively communicate insights in easy to understand and actionable manner
    • Operational knowledge of television network and station activities
    • Excellent documentation, communication, & organization skills.
    • Demonstrated expert ability in troubleshooting & analysis
    • Change oriented - actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change
