  • Overview

    The IT Security Analyst is part of a team responsible for enterprise-wide oversight and coordination of information technology security. This role will be responsible for identifying and protecting assets, detecting and responding to incidents, and assisting in recovery, planning and execution.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide analysis of threats, vulnerabilities, campaigns, and incidents in the form of actionable alerts, guidelines, and assessments in a clear and concise manner;
    • Monitor of and respond to security events and threats;
    • Investigate potential security issues using various security tools;
    • Perform vulnerability assessments, build and execute remediation plans; 
    • Maintain and test security incident handling processes and procedures;
    • Manage the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of security tools;
    • Establish and maintain regular communications with business system owners, managers, and end users regarding security activities;
    • Maintain awareness of advisories, alerts, vulnerabilities, and solutions through industry subscriptions;
    • Participate in end-user security awareness training initiatives;
    • Develop product comparisons and recommendations to further ION’s security strategy. 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cyber security, or information systems and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience;
    • Experience working within the information security field, with emphasis on security operations, incident management, intrusion detection, firewall deployment, and security event analysis;
    • Possess or working towards at least one of the following industry certifications: CISSP, CISM, GIAC (GSEC, GPEN, GCED, etc.) or similar;
    • Demonstrated experience in the monitoring, analysis, and triage of security events;
    • Demonstrated incident response experience;
    • Strong technical knowledge of various security tools, techniques, and methodologies including IDS/IPS, SIEM, data correlation and analysis, endpoint protection, and firewalls;
    • In-depth knowledge of current threat actors, techniques, and trends;
    • Working knowledge of common security industry standards such as: NIST 800-61, ISO 27001 and 27002.
