  • Overview

    The Data and File Management Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the management of all data on corporate shared drives and storage repositories. This individual will be expected to develop best practices for digital data and file storage company wide and create metrics-driven models to help ensure best practices are followed. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide technical support to the Executive office and be the point person to resolve issues efficiently and seamlessly.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops, maintains, and enforces data management policies and procedures.
    • Monitors data management and file usage, develops data models and reports to ensure file and data management policies and procedures are followed.
    • Creates reports on permissions, active data, stale data, changes to data, and data problems that need to be addressed.
    • Develops strategies, methods, and tools used to classify, capture, manage, store, and preserve documents.
    • Identifies data owners and provides reports about their data to ensure proper access levels.
    • Identifies opportunities to improve data management technology.
    • Regularly meets with and trains individuals and groups on data management best practices.
    • Maintains organization and folder structure in accordance with data management policies and procedures.
    • Ensures the proper application of data retention schedules.
    • Sets and maintains file permissions and the creation, deletion, and management of project related file repositories.
    • Handles confidential and sensitive information tactfully.
    • Provides IT support to the Executive Office.

    • Assists Senior Management with troubleshooting & resolving technical issues.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
    • 3+ years of experience in a corporate environment. 
    • Expert knowledge of technology’s role in a corporate environment.
    • Experience managing data and file access controls in a Microsoft environment.
    • Experience administering file shares and/or document management systems.
    • Must possess a high level of analytical and organizational skills.
    • Expertise in data and file management standards and technologies.
    • A forward-thinker with the ability to work independently on tasks.
    • Exceptional professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Acute attention to accuracy and detail in all aspects of responsibilities.
