  • Overview

    The Traffic Manager is responsible for scheduling and finalizing the daily traffic logs as well as managing short and long-term avails for ION broadcast networks. This person will also solicit traffic instructions and commercial content from the advertising agencies and commercial delivery vendors. The traffic Manager will engage in daily communication and coordination with internal Pricing & Inventory and Sales departments. We are searching for a personable and diligent individual who is conscientious and dependable. 

    Responsibilities

    • Audit placement to confirm that all spots are given required separation, rotation and resolve scheduling conflicts prior to log locking.
    • Monitor exceptions for current week by day part and rate to optimize avails.
    • Communicate daily and directly with sales account team regarding pre or post log issues such as spot count, cancellations, rate changes and new/revised orders.
    • Collaborate with ad agency contacts to acquire commercial copy instructions and determine delivery status of missing creative or new media.
    • Coordinate with our Technical Operations Center on new media arriving electronically from third-party vendors.
    • Apply commercial copy to contracted lines within flight per advertiser instructions.
    • Inform P&I team of copy issues such as hiatus dates, order discrepancies, S&P status or technical issues.
    • Provide back-up support to staff members. 

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS Degree.
    • 3+ years in related functions; Broadcast or agency traffic experience required.
    • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work well under pressure against tight deadlines and changing priorities.
    • Works independently with little supervision and strong decision-making abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint).
    • Working knowledge of traffic management systems (OSI, Broadview, Wide Orbit etc.)
    • Detail-oriented team player with a solid commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
    • Demonstrates initiative and willingness to acquire new skills and additional duties.
