  • Overview

    The Director, Inventory Management manages a team of planners and analysts and is responsible for pricing, inventory management and analytical direction of advertisement sales. This includes managing the network's rate card process, supporting pre-sales negotiations, reviewing and approving media plans and linear inventory orders, recognizing marketplace opportunities, managing fulfillment by optimizing audience liability and maximizing inventory utilization.


    Ths role's overall responsibility is to oversee configuration, approval and delivery of TV advertising media plans. They can be broadly classified into these categories:

    1. Support in pre-sales efforts
      • Create, review and approve all media plans, i.e. sales proposals, by providing input on product mix, inventory availability, and pricing.
      • Partner with ad-sales, client solutions, marketing, and traffic operations. 
    2. Ensure the advertising media plan is fulfilled 
      • Monitor and optimize active campaigns.
      • Manage and verify deal attributes, unit changes, revisions, constraints and restrictions. 
      • Maintain accurate demo impressions along with identifying and managing the resolution of discrepancies including estimating under/over delivery and allocating ADUs.

    3. Analytics, reporting and systems
      • Simplify and make business processes more efficient to mitigate problems that lead to revenue losses.
      • Mine data to uncover potential revenue opportunities and identify revenue-impacting issues.
      • Create innovative and effective ways to monitor and report.


    • Bachelor’s degree required, a quantitative discipline such as engineering, math, or finance would be a plus.
    • 10+ years of experience in television advertising pricing, inventory management and planning. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered.
    • Experience with sell-side workflow solutions and/or traffic and billing systems such as WideOrbit, OSI, Dealmaker, Operative etc.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience with the ability to navigate large data sets is a must.
    • Extremely organized and able to work proactively to manage all assigned projects.
    • Demonstrates a systematic approach towards collecting data from various sources.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills.
