  • Overview

    ION’s Head of Network Distribution manages the distribution of ION Media’s television networks. The role involves the array of strategic planning and operational execution activities needed to manage and grow ION’s nationwide television coverage through broadcast, cable, satellite, telco and Internet-based distributors. This executive-level leader ideally brings the business, transactional and managerial experience to build distribution relationships, negotiate and manage the underlying business deals, and ensure continuity and understanding of the operational video supply chain that feeds the multitude of ION’s distribution outlets.


    • Grow ION’s television household reach through broadcast, cable, satellite and new media distribution relationships.
    • Conceive and implement new launch, packaging, and other opportunities that lead to increased ION household reach and ratings.
    • Manage interdependencies and competitive sensitivities between distribution categories.
    • Negotiate and manage distribution agreements.
    • Strategize ION’s position and opportunities in an environment of media technology and regulatory change.
    • Understand new technologies and service models, and incorporate changes that improves ION’s performance, reliability, profitability, and optionality.
    • Minimize network down times, through operational planning and supervision.
    • Manage team to meet reach, revenue, and profitability targets.


    • 7+ years distribution or business development experience in television or related media.
    • Familiarity with the telecommunications and media landscape.
    • Hands-on competence and affinity for quantitative decision making.
    • Hands-on experience in negotiating complex legal agreements.
    • Familiarity with operational aspects of digital video distribution.
    • Experience in managing cross functional teams.
